5 reasons why your company should have a blog

Having a blog is no longer a weird thing when it comes to content and Inbound Marketing strategies.

But, I also understand that nowadays, there are still some managers, CMOs, CEOs and directors who didn’t realize about how is important to have a space to share valuable content.

Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Sha, co-founders of Hubspot, said in their book “Inbound Marketing”:

“These days, practically everyone turns to the web first when researching anything – from the best baby stroller to buy to which corporate account firm hire for your business. we start at google or another search engine and we tap our online network of friends, family members, and colleagues via online tools like e-mail, instant message, skype, facebook and twitter.”

Imagine that, this book was written in 2009. Back then, these genius people already knew that the company that is present in the digital environment, offering solutions to people’s problems in the form of content, will do more business.

Which means, more money.

So, why should my company have a blog?

In fact, there’s a bunch of reasons why your company should have a blog. But, the most important thing here is to create a relationship with your prospects and your customers.

When you write about things that could improve people’s lives, you are creating a relationship based on trust and value. In other words, your prospects and customers will see your company as a source of good information and a brand they can trust.

You are creating authority.

And in the process, you will be able to present your business, your product, service or idea, as part of the solutions. Also, how they can use your business to improve their lives, their jobs, or anything else.

In addition, you can count on more 5 reasons why your company should – I mean – must, have a blog:

1. Branding

Content is one of the best things to do a good branding for your business. Branding is about identity, design, content and strategy.

Using content to enhance your brand and online presence will make users, prospects, and customers see your company as a person: with tone of voice, personality, values, and feelings.

And, I really like to say this: people don’t connect with products or services, they connect with ideas.

2. Increase your online presence

Why be present only on social media channels like Instagram and TikTok when you can be part of a truly giant world?

Having a blog will make your company an answer to a question asked by any Internet user in the search engines.

It’s amazing, isn’t it?

The best benefit here is to also increase your organic traffic sources. In the long run, this is an excellent engine for making your marketing costs lower and more cost-effective.

3. Speak with one voice

Humans search everything on the Internet because it is easier and most of the time the information is there in its entirety.

It sounds lazy, but it is just human nature trying to be faster and spend less energy to solve a problem or find an answer to a question or issue.

Therefore, talking about one topic on social media and another topic on your blog or materials is sometimes not a good idea.

Our brain works with associations, meaning that talking about the same topics with appropriate channel language will create a sense of unity, enhancing your brand and keeping your audience engaged with your topics.

In addition, with a blog you can start or improve another good ways to talk with your prospects and consumers, like newsletters, e-books, including sharing the same content in all your channels.

4. Be a reference

The more you talk about a subject – in this case one that is part of your business universe – the more your audience will see your company as a reference in the subject.

And, when you are a reference in something, you increase the chances of users and customers referring your business to friends, family or even on their own social networks.

That is, you will have access to something very valuable, called spontaneous media.

5. Heat up your sales funnel

Many companies have problems with the early stages of the sales funnel. In fact, they invest in the action phase.

But in the long run, that’s not the best way to increase your sales. By creating content based on stimulating awareness, interest and evaluation and desire, you’ll be making a machine to keep your strategy running on its own.

Writing a blog with consistency and discipline will give you the opportunity to generate more leads and lead them down the funnel.
